The ACS CAN Florida Breakfast will highlight how health systems, partners, and community leaders are driving innovative solutions to expand access to cancer care. From bringing clinical trials closer to communities and using AI to enhance early detection, to addressing the rising cost of cancer and improving screening through options like self‑collection, leaders across Florida are rethinking how patients access prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. This program showcases collaborative, forward‑looking approaches designed to ensure every Floridian has a fair and timely path to quality cancer care.

Katie Zacher has spent her career in various clinical, operational, and revenue cycle areas of Healthcare, beginning her career in Women’s Health. She began her work in cancer 10 years ago when she joined AdventHealth’s physician enterprise, later becoming the Director of Oncology for AdventHealth Medical Group. After leaving that role, and prior to her current role, she also served as the Director of Revenue Cycle Operations, focusing on Oncology. Katie has held multiple planning committee and board positions within state and national Oncology societies, including FLASCO, ACCC, and the American Cancer Society. She earned undergraduate degrees in both Business and Finance, as well as her MBA in Healthcare and is currently pursuing an MSJ in Healthcare Law.

Dr. Omar Rashid specializes in surgical oncology and robotic surgery and is board-certified in Complex General Surgical Oncology and General Surgery. His research team leads initiatives related to cancer care, surgical care, health policy, cancer prevention and survivorship. Dr. Rashid serves as an ACSCAN volunteer advocate in Florida, urging his elected officials to prioritize policies that increase access to health care, reduce the burden of tobacco addiction, and bolster lifesaving cancer research and prevention programs.
